ABQ BioPark

The ABQ BioPark is an environmental center in Albuquerque. It is the best zoo in New Mexico and has over a million guests each year. The BioPark has four parts: the Rio Grande Zoo, Botanic Garden, Tingley Beach, and the Albuquerque Aquarium. 

Visitors can see land animals, plants, and sea creatures! The Rio Grande Zoo has unusual animals such as koalas, siamangs, Tasmanian devils, and wombats. BioPark members can enter the aquarium, botanic garden, and zoo for free. The Rio Line railroad connects all four attractions. 

Petroglyph National Monument

At this park you can see thousands of images that the people of the past carved into stone. Petroglyph National Monument is a national park in Bernalillo County, NM. Volcanic activity in the area and desert has created rocks with a patina that can be chipped away. 

The ancient Puebloans carved most of the petroglyphs that are still visible today. There are carvings of humans, animals, and symbols. Visitors should not touch the stones because it will degrade the petroglyphs. The park is a beautiful place to connect with nature and the past. 

Indian Pueblo Cultural Center

The Indian Pueblo Cultural Center is a museum and cultural center in Albuquerque focused on the Pueblo people. Pueblo are Native American tribes located in Southwestern United States, and there are 19 pueblo communities in New Mexico. 

The center preserves the culture, history, and art of the Pueblo people. It hosts traditional Pueblo dances on the weekend. Children under five are free to enter. If you’re hungry, you should check out the cultural center’s restaurant Pueblo Harvest. This Native American eatery blends modern and historic to create fantastic food. Visit the cultural center for a fascinating education about the Puebloans.
